## Requests Come In Through the Client Portal

Clients submit requests directly from their [portal](https://www.liftedwork.com/guides/client-portal-and-requests-guide) with file attachments: PDFs, images, videos, documents, and more (up to 50 files, 100MB each). Every request lands in the **Requests** panel on your [dashboard](https://www.liftedwork.com/features/agency-dashboard-software).

## Status Tracking

Each request moves through clear stages: **Pending**, **Scheduled**, and **Closed**. Filter and search across all requests by status, client, or date.

## Convert to Tasks in One Click

Turn any request into a task. When converting, apply a [task template](https://www.liftedwork.com/features/task-templates-with-sops-or-ai-prompts) to prefill time estimates, instructions, and SOPs so nothing gets missed.

## Notes Back to Client

Add notes to a request that are visible in the client portal under "Our Response." Use this to communicate status updates, ask follow-up questions, or confirm next steps directly on the request.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the difference between a client request and a task?

A request records what the client asked for. A task is the agency's scoped work item with an owner, due date, time budget, instructions, and visibility. Review the request before converting it so the task reflects the work the agency actually agreed to do.

### How can an agency prevent client requests from causing scope creep?

Use a clear request form, acknowledge the request before scheduling it, estimate the effort, and compare it with the client's included services or remaining hours. If it is outside scope, respond with options before assigning the work.

### What files can clients attach to requests in Lifted Work?

Clients can attach PDFs, images, videos, documents, and other supporting files. A request can contain up to 50 files, with a 100 MB limit per file.
