Can’t Find a Task? How to Find a “Missing” Task in Lifted Work

If a task seems to disappear in Lifted Work, this guide will help you find it fast. Learn how filters, views, and date ranges affect task visibility—and how to reset them.

1🕵️ Where Did My Task Go?

Sometimes when you're working in Lifted Work, you create or complete a task—and it seems to vanish. Don’t worry. It’s almost always because of active filters or view settings.

Here’s how to quickly find your task again.

2🧭 1. Check Your Task View

At the top of the Tasks screen, you'll see three main view filters:

  • Upcoming – shows tasks based on their due date

  • Completed – shows tasks based on the date they were marked complete

  • Everything – shows all tasks regardless of status

Tip: If you mark a task as complete while you're in "Upcoming" view, it will disappear—because it's no longer upcoming. Switch to “Completed” to see it.

3🗓 2. Check the Active Month

Lifted Work organizes tasks by month. You’ll see forward and back arrows near the top to navigate between:

  • This month

  • Last month

  • Next month

Tip: If you create or complete a task with a date that falls in a different month, it won’t show unless you’ve selected the correct month.

4🎯 3. Review Your Filters

Along the top, you may have filters applied. These include:

  • Person – tasks assigned to a specific teammate

  • Client – filters to one client only

  • Search term – limits results to a keyword match

  • Autocomplete status – shows/hides tasks that are set to auto-complete

Even if one of these is slightly off, your task may be hidden from view.

Tip: If in doubt, click the “X” to clear filters or use the “Reset filters” button.

5🧠 Why Filters Are Useful (And When They Trip You Up)

Filters are incredibly powerful for:

  • Seeing just your tasks for the week

  • Reviewing completed work yesterday

  • Checking a single client’s workload

  • Finding tasks with a specific keyword

But they can confuse things if you forget they’re turned on while:

  • Creating a new task for a different client

  • Completing a task that now falls into a different view

6🔁 Recap: What To Do If a Task Is Missing

  1. Switch from Upcoming to Completed

  2. Check the date range (current month vs. others)

  3. Clear all filters (Person, Client, Search, Autocomplete)

  4. Use “Everything” view to see all tasks

In almost every case, your task isn’t gone—it’s just hidden by your current filters.

7💡 Bonus Tips

  • Completed view sorts by completion date, not due date

  • Upcoming view sorts by due date, not when it was created

  • “Everything” is your safety net—use it if you're ever unsure

Lifted Work gives you the power to filter and manage tasks deeply, but with that power comes the occasional "Where did it go?" moment. Now you know exactly how to handle it.
